Can you explain your rig better? Do you have a dual PCI card and an AGP card installed? BTW "onboard" mean the BIOS is using the video chip on the motherboard and not accessing the PCI or AGP slots.

Many older motherboards dont let you toggle between AGP/PCI start up for your video.

Also,

Did you unplug the monitor from the on board port? I think you may have an "either-or" but not both type MB. If that is the case, you will need a second video card to run the third monitor. If you buy the second video card, make sure it is a dual also. I mean if three does it for you, four will make you giddy. (g)
