I believe it is extremely difficult to grasp the mindsets prevalent in a different culture. So, I greatly appreciate you sharing your perspective. Part (but only part) of the reason I've railed against the neo-cons, is their simplistic approach. They not only don't understand the cultures they have deeply offended, little or no attempt was made to understand. Even within a cultural sphere, like say the western European sphere, there are vast differences between the sub-groups. Between the US and the Arabs or the Chinese, is a very large gulf - a gulf in which misunderstanding would be easy. JMO lurqer
