In the US GDP accounting, I believe USD 300 million of fiction money that no one ever spent and no one ever got is attributed to the fact that folks get "free" checking service at their banks.

I suppose, with the demise of checks all together, the statisticians can now double the attribution of check-enabled fiction money in the GDP accounting :0)
