James > SA has 50% unemployment." Ouch! No wonder you have a high crime rate. Some argue that way but in India there is an even higher unemployment rate and much less crime. I think crime has more to do with the idea of "entitlement", a creation of liberal politics, and this idea has taken a firm root particularly in the minds of those of African origin. In fact, these people believe they are entitled to anything which anyone else has, as if the world owes them something just for being here. They are not prepared to study, to work or take any responsibility --- they just want --- and others have to provide. I agree it's a pity about the bank robber's kids but how would the world be if everyone walked around with guns like in the days of the Wild West.
