"Candidly, I'm puzzled by it," Connerly said. "Maybe people are saying one thing when they're faced with the NAACP staring at them, and maybe they're saying something else when they get to the privacy of their homes, or in one-on-one conversations where they're not afraid of being ostracized."

This hit a nerve with me. The whole issue may come down to whether people are willing to be "ostracized" for what they think, and emboldened enough to vote their conscience.

In his opening monologue today Rush Limbaugh told the though police to go to hell.

Maybe that 'tude is more contagious than we know?

One can hope!
