It is not a law, most likely. That's not any opinion of mine, at any rate, as to whether it is lawful or not. I assume it is, which is another reason to be concerned.

My opinion is that swearing allegience to a foreign power is an unacceptable conflict of interest for high gov't office. That applies to all, regardless of "origin".

You're confused if you use the world "origin". That's obviously not the issue. You don't swear allegience to an "origin". You swear allegience to become a citizen, regardless of where you were born.
