the strongest correlation to someone going to college is whether their parents own a house.

1) Unless you can rule other possible correlations, this statement is meaningless. For example, there is undoubtedly a very strong correlation between going to college and the student's desire to achieve; one which I suspect is much stronger than the one you mentioned but has been conveniently omitted from your statement.

2) Correlation does not show causation. Ever.

if you screw a group of people for generations, the results also last for generations. of course it's much easier to say "i screwed you, accumulated all the wealth created by you, now we are all equal"

My father entered this world with nothing. Zero. What he created he created from nothingness. I'm pissed he wasn't a Kennedy. Who do I see about that?

The entire argument is just idiotic.

Muzosi, if you screw a group of people for generations, the results also last for generations.

Who's "you"? Last time I checked, my ancestors and I had nothing to do with the African slave trade.

I didn't screw anyone and most of the people benefiting now were not seriously screwed. Most of the people involved on either side of the screwing are dead. All of them are dead if you are talking about slavery.

For that matter some of the people who get AA preferences didn't even have ancestors who where screwed by slavery or even racism in America and a number of the people who are getting screwed by AA don't even have ancestors who had anything to do with slavery. Should recent immigrant get formal penalties when applying for a job or benefits because of their skin color?
