I thought that commercial speech was not protected by the 1st Amendment. The article I posted on this subject from "Reason" stated, "Nottingham's argument is pretty persuasive, especially when you realize that the second-class status of commercial speech has no basis in the Constitution. The First Amendment, after all, does not distinguish between a proposal to refinance your mortgage and a request for money to help save the baby harp seals." reason.com
