would you clarify because that should bother any normal person, including germans.....

I am going to jump in and give you my take, ak, because I agree with Nadine. The historical tendency is blame the Nazis on an isolated group of Jack Booted Anti-Semites.

Hitler and his party got voted in because a large part of the German population agreed with him. When you look back at times when a great evil was committed, it is always done in the name of the "Common Good," by the "Good People" in the community.

Ok, I'll clarify, first, by saying that I don't believe that Arnold ever said or implied that he was an unqualified admirer of Hitler. I think he was focusing more on Hitler's technique as a demagogue and propagandist and self-invented man. Kind of like a film buff admiring Triumph of the Will. Doesn't bother me too much unless I suspect that he also admires Nazi principles. I don't really know if Arnold has any principles, but I don't think he's a covert Nazi.

Second, it's PC to go nuts over this reference, not because anybody really thinks that Arnold is a Nazi, but because he mentioned Hitler without making 'proper' denunciations (which he's duly making today). PC has made of evil an empty box containing Adolf Hitler. You ask college students, "who's evil?" and they'll reply on cue, "Adolf Hitler". You ask, "anybody else?" and they'll go "ummm...".

Note that had Arnold ever expressed an similar admiration for Joe Stalin, there wouldn't have been 1/10th as much reaction.
