** OT ** I feel the same way about Vancouver, Ralph.

You should move to Victoria, LOL. The grannies are about the only traffic danger we got. Your post is also a sign of us getting old. We used to look forward to those kind of challenges.

<< don't think this correction means anything in the scheme of this bull market because a bull market is characterized by a slow steady upward trend punctuated by violent downside corrections designed to shake as many riders off as possible.>>

Toatally correct IMO.

Also the opposite holds true for bears which we are witnessing this week in the indexes. I'm stubbornly sticking to the opinion that that the markets are taking their final gasps and shorting tech today.

Would love to see the gold shares come back some more for the close.

PS Stockwatch ticker down again.

GRRRRR

EDIT

Fri Oct 3, 2003 11:53AM PST - Tickers down - There was an explosion at a nearby power plant and some servers were reset affecting all the ticker servers. They will be available soon. The realtime quotes on the website is not affected. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Gold is a good place to hide, as any, if your wealth is denominated in US Dollars.
Not the case currently vs. Euro.

Sugar: well, a manner of speaking. We have excellent crops with high concentrations of sugar over here (due to last drouht), hence expecting European sugar to fall in prices and spill over to NY. Matter of speaking.
The coffee idea comes from rising standard of living in Asia, and increased demand for coffe and bread (should have added wheat in my list <vbg>). Well, they always can seed some wheat by themselves.

Your traffic problems: never give anyone a gold bar, unless from Hershey's.
There are some navigation tools you can install in a car and they still can be bought with USD.com's

Did anyone read that Gates was selling 10% his MSFT stock and buying EVERY share of EVERY mining stock?

Me neither, but could be close to truth and therefore makes these manipulated selloffs easier to tolerate and understand what really happens if the pitiful economy and debt and crookedness is ever finally exposed and 10% of the people move to gold stocks.

I remain,
