Do you really think for one second I feel sorry for you?

I certainly don't want your (or anyone else's) pity. Nor do I think pity is in order for the descendants of deceased slaves. Whatever happened to these slaves didn't happen to their descendants who are alive today. The notion that AA can "make up for" slavery is both absurd and demeaning to the memories of these poor individuals.

You think your father dropping out of school to feed his family is equivalent to 200 years of slavery, rape, murder, discrimination and economic deprivation?

Show me a person that was kept in slavery for 200 years, and raped and deprived and then eventually killed and you might have a better point, except of course that he or she would be dead so they could not benefit from AA.

Should Colin Powell's children get AA bonuses? They were not deprived, enslaved, killed, or as far as we know raped. They also did not have ancestors who where kept down by slavery in the US. Should a poor Asian immigrant be penalized for what a white southerner did in 1845? If I find a country where my ancestors where abused should I be able to go there and claim special benefits and privileges? If so why? If no, then why not, if you support such privileges for other people based on the abuse of done to their ancestors?

My father died when I was eleven......my mother was capable of very little. I put myself through school and paid every penny for tuition, books, room and board, dates and clothes. I have worked since I was 12.

So should you get AA benefits even if you are white? Or if you are white should a millionaire black immigrant get preferential treatment over you?
