I don't think it is true. I also don't think its Rush theory. Rush's theory is that some in the media give an exaggerated appraisal of McNabb's abilities because he is black. Not that NFL teams exaggerated Mcnabb's ability.

The truth is McNabb was a great QB at Syracuse. The truth is that McNabb's pro stats are not great. The truth is that last year, the Eagles made the playoffs but not the Superbowl. The truth is McNabb looks great on the field. The truth is McNabb came back from a broken leg last season to make the playoffs, and has had a mediocre one so far early this season. The truth is some sportcasters think he has the potential for greatness and others thinks he's just okay. Their opinions are part anecdotal, part fact, and vary greatly.

My point..........it is very difficult to make a true statement when the basis for that statement is part anecdotal, part supposition, part fact, part opinion. And yet, Rush took the plunge. The consequences are his to bear.

However, it looks like they will pale in comparison to those he will suffer from the drug scandal that seems to be brewing.
