You're giving the American people too much credit. Remember these are the same fools who brought the whole WMD arguement last Spring The people didn't directly vote on this, it was the Senate and House in a Joint Resolution. We didn't have to fight Hitler, he would have burnt himself out on Russia. We could have just let the Japanese take what they wanted in Asia. No skin off our nose.
