Great link<G>. Thanks.

Of course we can escape all of the debt if Fed inflates the market. Every one will be very happily to pay back old debts easily....as long as we keep on playing the same game.

About 35 years ago, when I was still a kid my father told me several times that without gold backing US dollar you will eventually see it become worthless. I was kind of understood what he said, but didn't really see the problem until early 1993, when I started trading gold stocks. Later I read the book "Bankruptcey 1999" in 1998. I finally realized the great danger we were in. Well..long story short. I have tried very hard to pay back all of my debts as fast as I can. Too bad..I don't have any debt to pay with inflated dollar right now, or in the future. LOL

It is interesting to see the bond yields jumped today. I would like to see how Fed keeps it down for any longer. I am afraid that we are going to see much higher interest rate because Fed has given the signal that they will inflate the economy out of this deep hole....probably only get into a bigger one. You will see Fed to buy its own bonds when no one wants them. Who cares.. this is the quiz for the presidential candidates next year.

Sincerely,
Wade

Louise,

It is very very clear that Fed is very closely watching and/or controlling(?) the stock market. I wonder if he is really thinking about the health of the US economy despite he said at the beginning of his speech. He totally forgot about federal deficit and trade imbalance affecting the stock market as well. Multiple variables has to be considered. Bomber.

This is just like that Fed is trying to fill a bucket having rusty and leaky bottom with a garden water hose. Only to find that the water level keeps on dropping. So they borrowed a bigger hose from the fire department to fill the bucket. Now, guess what..the bottom of the bucket got knocked off. No more bucket.

Louis,

You posted this speech of Governor Ben S. Bernanke.

I think it was a bomber. Now, I just found this excellent article to explain it:
