Psychic Troubleshooting,

Friend with a Gateway 933 called me up and claims her computer won't turn on. Says she went away for a weekend with it on and came back to find it off. Claims that nothing at all happens when she hits power switch (no beep, no fan etc). Further claims she has tried the cord in other known good outlets.

I'm going over tomorrow thinking power supply problem and praying for a blown fuse. (Three years old so no support from gateway she says). I've tried looking through the gateway site but it wasn't that enlightening.

Any gateway owners have any similar experiences ?

Pretty amazing stuff on hiding IP and anonymous surfing. Has anyone tried this? How does it run with other programs such as ZAP and NAV? The anonymizer.com has a pretty professional website and offers a variety of products.

After reading your post and links, I'm wondering why this is not offered in traditional suites like Norton or even ZAP. Seems like the market would be huge. (Wish I were a computer geek, might be a way to make some real bucks.)

I was also wondering why the kids who download all the time don't use this to prevent RIAA from tracing them.
