she comes across as just a superb human being

she would make a great governor in her own right, imo

Maria Shriver was fortunate in having shining examplars of behavior in both her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and her father, Sargent Shriver. I always felt badly for Robert Kennedy's kids, especially the one who died of a drug overdose. He was watching his father on TV in the hotel room in CA and saw him shot and die, at age 14. {Edit: And you're right, Ethel Kennedy was no help. Her kids dealt with it on their own.)
