I'd like to see where this 50 mil number is coming from.

I posted links. And while on the subject, I'd like to see where your 25 million figure is coming from.

Albert, I believe you. You having lived it, are an expert of Russian history. I am not an expert on the subject.

I got my info from U of Md and other courses I took while living in Berlin:
History of Russia
History of the Soviet Union
Geography of the Soviet Union
Geography of Europe
History of Russian Armed Forces
The Battle for Berlin
The Battle of Leningrad

I am certain we read different books and accounts...Yet the similarities are there.

The 25 million vs 50 million argument is meaningless to me because both statistics are so large...they are beyond comprehension.

What would you like me to say? Stalin is OK because he only purged 25 million.

Thanks for correcting your earlier remark and saying he did indeed kill children.

Your comment... It was indirect via starvation of some areas etc. There were no children in GULAGs.
makes me shudder.

Stalin deliberately starved millions to death.
The deliberate part makes it pretty direct to me.
I don't accept that starving kids to death is preferable to a shot in the head...the usual Russian method.

Karen suggested the Russians did not keep records. They did. Too bad the KGB destroyed them.
