Scott, are you privileged to inside info ?
You said you sold 85% of everything on Friday except for 2 items. The obvious question is when did you sell ? You would have had to sell within 5 minutes to avoid the losses for the day. If you sold before the very sudden drop then you must have been told it was coming because most of the stocks dropped so fast that many were taken by surprise and couldn't act. By luck I had an order in to sell CDE at 3.27 and it got filled just before the drop. If you sold at the end of the day then you may prove to be the weak limbs that got shaken.

Now that its Fall, go out and look at the fallen leaves. Those represent a sudden wind that came up and took most of the weak leaves off the trees. Fall has just started. The strongest leaves will not fall until the proper time which in the case of the gold bull is many years from now.

If you figure that the "flag" is going to be flying at half mast for a while longer then you will look smart but if it reverses suddenly over the weekend, say upon news that Israel kills Arafat, then you will be left in the dust.

Selling IVN makes no sense to me. It's the most watched PM stock right now. If it didn't fall Friday it won't imo. IE (IVAN) was also up.

Good luck to us

Sorry to rain on your parade but the time to sell was one week earlier. I mean the nut stuff like GSC, GSC.WT, etc.
I don't know what you have but selling golds on Friday was a panic move and selling into a falling market.
No good at all.
I can tell you what I did. I sold all of my GSC stuff, that I acquired one year before, during the previous week.
INTO STRENGTH, mind you. Could not pass 10 bagger. Also a personal situation. Needed the money :-)
I left the rest of my position in golds intact. This is a bull. Not a weeny time.
Eternaly gold,
AH
PS1. For Liz,
Cheers,
I hope you have enjoyed the gold run. Placer has not been good for this puppy. As I suspected, I want to add. They changed the game from exploration to corporate. Placer is spread and weak. Period.
I have kept my core NRI position. Want to get NRI.WT at stinking prices. Whatever would that be:-)
PS2. To all people in golds,
I am not taking on Scott. Be disciplined. Trade, by all means, but into strength. Don't enrich brokerage houses.
Be brave to take your profits. Don't panic because somebody sells golds for no good reason like last Friday. Ride it out! Like Russell says.
Employment numbers. What a joke!
Just a piece of advice. I am just a humble participant of this bull, too.
Good luck to all.
