California's crazy anyway. No question about that! Allowing illegal immigrants to get a driver's license??? Its not as crazy as you might think. Illegals are a way of life in CA and for economic reasons, its not likely they will ever go a way. They play a very key role in the CA economy. However, their driving sucks big time! They don't know the rules of the road plus they never got formal drivers's ed. To add insult to injury, they work 24/7, are always exhausted and cause a greater share of the accidents than their population size would suggest. I have been hit twice by illegals. The first time was in a 9 car pileup that I had stopped to avoid. I could see him in my rearview mirror as he approached my car. I honked, my lights were flashing......I saw that he was totally oblivious. I watched as he rammed me......there was nada I could do. When he got out of the car, I could see he was sleep deprived; that he was illegal and he had no insurance. My insurance company garnished his wages for over a year and that 9 car pile up became 11. ;~(( The second time was an illegal who made an illegal turn because he couldn't read the sign that was written in English. And there is no way there will be dual language signs like in Quebec. I see giving them licenses as a way to kill several birds........you teach them the rules of the road, you know where they live, you force them to know some English, you can push them on the insurance issue and you have some background on them. ted
