Many people are concentrating on Ivanhoe for its copper. I suggest that you look at First Quantum for its copper. New mine starting up at the end of 2004. Kansanshi, new find in the DRC Lufua, Bwana Mkubwa/Lonshi producing 30,000 tonnes a year at cash cost of 32c a lb, 17% ownership along with Glencore in Mopani which comprises 2 producing copper mines and smelters, and a huge land position in the DRC bordering Zambia copper belt.
BTW Billiton is working on some other property called Mwinilunga in which FM has an interest.
Also FM owns 17% of Australian company Anvil Mining which has a new producing copper/silver mine in the DRC.
