I am not sure; I have not been able to find the context for that statement, though I have seen it widely quoted. Either way, it is very true. BTW, there is an interesting QED theory which, imo, is the best alternative to multiple universe hypothesis. It is called Pilot Wave Theory and briefly stated it contends that every quantum event sends out two sets of waves, one moving forward in time and one moving backwards in time. When an observation is made in the future, the backwards moving wave from that observation cancels out the forward moving waves of alternate possibilities. It is a very elegant solution to a very complex problem which not only solves the alternate universe "problem", but also upon close examination does not require us to change much of our understanding of reality. The catch is that we have to admit that the reality we remember is only one of many. It just happens to be the one that explains the present best. Talk about revisionist history...even God is getting in on the act!!!
