lorne...I've given that thought as well. Basically, I believe people show us who they are and what they are made of by their actions. Many Americans think that Chirac has indeed proven by his actions and deeds what he thinks of us... (BTW, is their truth that as long as he's President he won't have to go to jail for a crime already committed???)

As for the French people themselves....I haven't been there as yet. BUT I know MANY who have been...Most of them think the people in the countryside are generally friendly, but the vote is decidedly the other way when it comes to the folks in the major French cities, especially Paris. Insufferable is a word I hear frequently. So is rude.

Best way to gauge how we should treat them is: See how they are...do they "Talk the Walk, or do they WALK the WALK."

< I suppose this kind of thinking could be applied to any country>...........I would certainly think so Lorne......Mr Bush dislikes our PM & is punishing the Canucks at every opportunity........so my dislike of Bush & his cronies has not swayed my thoughts that the average Yanks are still our friends.
