Yeah, I remember those words, "I think he'd make a good governor" But that is not the same as saying I endorse Arnold for governor. In fact he remained distant before that comment and then afterward. That story was two days after Arnold entered the race.

He went to length to say that (ex)Presidents should stay out of local politics.

"As far as I'm concerned, we don't need presidents to come in, we don't need ex-presidents to come in, we don't need other senators from other states coming in," he told the Fox and Friends TV programme.

That pretty much sums up his non-committal position.
