We need to get off Arab oil within 15 years and that means huge investments in clean fuels technology. Alaska wont help us much either, no matter how many wildlife refuges we drill. We have to do it with American ingenuity. And that means massive incentives and technology infratrsucture investments. No car should get less than 50 miles per gallon in 15 years, and most should be running on hybrid or clean fuel systems. If not, we will be stuck and trapped in this endless cycle in the Middle East, living on borrowed time and stinking up the planet.
