Once you start to understand this mindset, you'll start to understand liberals.

Ten,

I'm not sure I WANT to understand that mindset. I think it would ruin me for life <g>...

According to their relativistic beliefs, moral standards should be personal, not universal, and everyone ought to be judged by his or her own personal standards.

Excellent analysis. Right and wrong, for me, is what I say it is. Limbaugh's drug abuse is wrong because he said it was wrong; had he not said it was wrong, it would have been right. Same with Bennett & gambling.

Now, I see -- you have given me insight into some of the most convoluted thinking on earth. Thanks ...

Hence the reason they only pounce on so-called "moralists" whenever they screw up.

You don't need to be a liberal to have a distaste for some holier than thou public figure, with as many defects as any Joe on the street, who uses his/her pulpit to cast stones as though he/she were without sin...it's not surprising their targets feel vindicated when it is confirmed (they know it all along) that they sin the very same sins...it's not research...it's not even good engineering. And the only reason it seems like Rush is being laughed at by liberals is because liberals have been in his cross hairs for so long. It's not rocket science as you would have us believe... nihilism my a$$....LOL

Al

Liberals view conservatives as holding themselves to a higher moral standard. Hence the reason they only pounce on so-called "moralists" whenever they screw up. According to their relativistic beliefs, moral standards should be personal, not universal, and everyone ought to be judged by his or her own personal standards.

Once you start to understand this mindset, you'll start to understand liberals. Of course, I believe this mindset is wrong and ultimately leads to nihilism, but then again, I can't help being one of those pompous, self-righteous "moralists" myself. ;-)

That's the problem with moralism........those who are moralistic get very self righteous and pompous like the Bennetts and Limbaughs of the world. That's why its hard to have sympathy for them when they fall.
