I know California is dramatically underspending in higher education.

53K average median salary? The highest in the country? The first fix for California's Educational problems is easy. Make them go back to teaching the same number of hours per day and days per year as they did in 1965.

..In Jersey, it's definitely the case, particularly for k-12.

John, I don't know how you can say the Jersey schools are underfunded. In my district, total cost per pupil for the regional high school is $14,260. In a poor district like Asbury Park, it's $17,473, and in a wealthy district like Rumson-Fair Haven, it's $14,369. The cost per pupil in the elementary schools are $13,164, $17,473, and $9,164, respectively. * That's a lot of money. Jersey's school problems come from the influx of new kids and continual mandates from the state with not enough time or money to implement them, not underfunding per se.

Show me evidence that says educational achievement increases with funding.
