I watched that with enormous interest as it was occurring (you may recall my "wink" comment) and went back over some of the earliest posts again yesterday. You really are good at finessing situations like that. You can disagree with people without them ever knowing it. This discussion was a case study. A true artist, for sure. I'm not sure you did your friend any favors, though.

In answer to your question: Friendship is some shield against rancor...as is an insufficiency of involvement. I hope this answers some of your puzzlement. Now I will do my shopping.
