Yesterday I said the spike in lease rates supported Sinclair's view that the recent fall in the POG was not do to manipulation. I went on to state incorrectly that the
jump in the one-year rate meant that supplies increased and leasing was minimal. The opposite is true. The spike in lease rates clearly indicates that there was a spike in leasing and probably a spike in leased gold being sold to cap the POG.
