I have some relatives who work for the government. You should be ashamed of yourself putting them down. These are people who could have made twice as much in the private sector but chose to serve and can barely raise their families. For shame. Of course wastrels in private or public sectors ought to be laid off but the public sector is far more efficient sometimes than the private, and much cheaper. For instance, like those HMO's and their workers? They're 10% less efficient than government health workers.
