Tim, Yes hindsight is 20/20 and much easier to figure out what somebody is doing when looking back. At the time there were many honest supporters of Bob on this thread. Don Lane only had to direct the attack and many chimed in so it wasn't quite as easy to see it was Bob Brinker himself posting as Don Lane at the time.

I saw these posts on another thread and it is incontravertable evidence that Bob Brinker was indeed Don Lane on this thread. The fact that Jeffrey D, omitted the most famous player on this thread and others, tells me he knows the truth as well.

Speaking of time off for good behavior, my good friends in
Colorado tell me the university that houses the famed Golden
Buffalo will be holding its spring commencement exercise this
weekend in Boulder, Colorado. Hasn't the Starship Commander
discussed his daughter's senior year at the university during
several programs over the last several months. And if so, wouldn't
it make sense for him to attend his daughter's graduation
exercise? And while he is at it, wouldn't he be a good bet to
challenge Bobby Junior to a couple rounds of you know what?
If so, who will we be treated to this weekend? Will it be William of
Flanagan, The Goddess of Neale, or those very motley fools?
Or is my Colorado information as bankrupt as Mr. Bowtie's advice?

Justa: I'm happy to report that after a grueling two day tournament, the undisputed champion of the Colorado Invitation Spring Tournament has been crowned. Although I have a suspicious feeling the next several Moneytalk programs will be far too busy for the results to be announced, this forum does grant me the pleasure of announcing that Bob Jr. has swept Bob Sr. in 36 holes of high-altitude golf. I love this game!-bb jr.

My theory on why Brinker posted here as Don Lane.

Brinker's contract with ABC is EXCLUSIVE. I read that some of the one day wonders who guest hosted the show were asked to be the regulars instead of BillF and they declined. The reason given by one on his web site was ABC demanded an exclusive contract - no other radio shows!

Brinker was probably violating his ABC employment contract to post on the net as Don Lane while letting it be known through Bob Jr and others, wink wink, who it "really was." I know David Korn used to have a Brinker file of aliases used on Brinker's site. I remember Bob Jr promising here and elsewhere that they hoped to have Bob Sr as a regular contributor at BobBrinker.com but he NEVER ONCE made a post under his own name. What else but a contractual obligation (money) would force Brinker to make "bobby junior" deliver empty promises?

More evidence. I had several financial radio show hosts approach me about using my site as a Q&A place for their audience much as it was for Brinker before we started to question Brinker back in 1998. One was from a MAJOR ABC affiliate who was on right after moneytalk. ABC told him flat out NO! They are not even allowed to give non ABC email addresses! Len Tilman on KGO in SF after MoneyTalk has a great show for legal issues. Len has to have you send him all email via his ABC email account. I have a theory Brinker was about to quit over the David Korn summaries and ABC decided to allow Brinker to plug his web site since it was content only... so they were comfortable making the exception as the discussion forum was already shut down. They even did the summaries for free and now allow Brinker to resell the show. Heck, Brinker is a brilliant businessman and he might have used the Korn furror as a way to get the extra money from selling books and radio shows for all we know.

Anyway, the real proof is Brinker had the Don Lane name changed to mister topes years after he made his last post. It is a real gas to look up the last posts made by "don lane" and read the replies address him as "Don." Who would care except someone trying to hide the name "don lane?" Why would anyone care but Brinker or someone with something to hide?

FWIW, I was told the real Don Lane was a dirt track driver.... wasn't that Brinker's College radio gig?
