Here's a very interesting tidbit: Wilson's comments to a group called EPIC last June, before his wife's outing. He referred to some deep, dark Administration agenda but the summary of his remarks does not suggest what the agenda might be.

"Keynote speaker Ambassador Joe Wilson echoed Yaphe, mentioning that because
Iraq’s regime change was accomplished by foreign militaries, it is unlikely that Iraq will
benefit from the same legitimacy and democratic transition of post-liberation Eastern
Europe. Wilson also commented on the hubris of the Bush Administration that led us into
the attack on Iraq, “The WMD issue brought the hard-core realists on board. The appeal on
terrorism attracted those American families traumatized by 9/11. The message of liberation
got the liberals on board. All that is now hidden [about the real agenda informing our
invasion of Iraq], however, shall in time become revealed.” In addition to Wilson, several
panelists shared a concern over the credibility of the Administration’s claims to Congress
that prompted the pre-emptive strike against Iraq."

If you want to hear Wilson's remarks in toto, scroll down to the bottom of this. You'll need RealPlayer, which I don't have. I'd love to see a transcript but, alas, there is none.
