Do you support a special protected class you would call the press, or do you support extra protections for people engaging in the activity of disseminating news and opinion? If the first we just totally disagree. If the second do the people have to have a big corporation behind them? I would say no. If I created a small paper that I passed out for free in my housing development then I would be "the press". And since protections for the press have been extended to other media (radio, TV, more recently the internet) then anyone publishing a web site containing original news and opinion stories would also be "the press".
