They have both copped in the past to simply playing a points gotcha game. I can't get excited about it but I understand their explanations. I do see earnest thoughtful posts from each of them from time to time. With solon I see the solonistic roll present it self whenever his pov is exposed as weak or faulty. Up to that point he can be pretty genuine. To me it looks like a maniacal ego that can't allow itself to say 'ooops' or 'now I get it.' I have told him that with predictable results.

That is what I do not understand with Solon (or Chris, for that matter): even if you were wrong or irritating, it was not worth the firepower turned against you, as far as I could see. It was like you had to answer for every dubious practice in a Muslim country in regards to females, universal or not, contemporary or not.........

That, Neo, is probably one of the least accurate posts you have made in quite some time.

First of all, I doubt you will find the term Muslim in any of my posts, or any reference to Muslim belief. In fact, quite early on Jewel intentionally and clearly excluded any religious justification for Mojo's belief, so that took any Muslim influence out of it. It was purely a matter of individual belief. It was not until well after I had left the discussion that I made what I think was my only reference to a Muslim country, and that was simply that Mojo might be more acceptable practicing in Iran. Which in fact is perfectly true, because Iran doesn't have the same laws and principles against discrimination that we do. In Iran there would be no issue of Mojo being allowed openly to advertise his services for men only. So it was not an anti-Muslim comment at all, but a recognition that one country's laws would allow what another country's would not. Just as, for example, it would be reasonable to suggest during a discussion of homosexual marriage that a homosexual person wanting to get married should consider moving to Canada because they could do so legally under that system without all the hassles and social challenges of trying to get married in the US. There is nothing wrong in recognizing that different countries have different laws and different social environments, and that people who don't fit well into one might fit better into another.

Second, I did not turn any firepower against Jewel at all. I discussed the principles he had put forward. He didn't like what I said, but it had nothing to do with him. He's the one who started personally attacking me, but I did not respond in kind. (I notice that you said nothing at all when those personal attacks were going on. Do y ou care to explain to us why not?)

Anyhow, I never asked Jewel to address, let alone answer for, ANY practices in ANY Muslim countries in regard (not regards, please) to females. If you think I did, find me the post.

I realize that Jewel has personalized this discussion, and i think that is very unfortunate (and is why I dropped out of it). But are you now going to do the same thing? Really, Neo, I expect better of you.

He was cuffed very gently. His mouth was so huge we could have started a new universe. Where have you been?

"It was like you had to answer for every dubious practice in a Muslim country"

Don't be an idiot. Just because you think the practices are dubious does not mean that others do.

"It was like you had to answer for every dubious practice in a Muslim country in regards to females, universal or not, contemporary or not.........."]

Nobody mentioned a Muslin country except as an incidental. Nobody asked Jewels to account for anything Muslim: It wasn't even part of his "presentation".

Both of you have shown an abysmal ignotrabce as regards freedom of conscience. You seem to think it allows any idiocy (such as mOHO) or any insult (such as MOHO)--but it doesn't.
