A majority of whatever group is making the laws (whether the people by referendum, a local, state, or national legislature, or a duly empowered bureauracy) think they know what is best for society better than an individual does. They may or may not have considered the feeligns, interests, and principles of some or all of the people to whom the law will apply, but if they have, they have decided that they know better.

You have, basically, summed up in a nutshell the very nature of government.

Which is one reason that I want rather minimal government.

Also I wasn't just talking about government as much as I am talking about the people arguing for the idea that Mojo should not be able to run his business his way and pusing for laws against his actions or enforcement of existing laws. The arguments was made against Mojo that he was doing all those things, and maybe he is but so is everyone here arguing that he shouldn't be allowed to discriminate.
