Prop 54 loses. Prop 53 passes.

What's Prop 53 about? Thank heavens 54 did not pass.

If I were you I wouldn't get too excited about Arnold's win. From what little I've read about CA from the posts you've put up and in the newspapers, this doesn't even begin to address the state's economic issues.

Big issue is whether a novitiate politician as governor can work with the legislature. If he goes into confrontation mode, the state spirals further downward. If he tries to work with them, they'll try to take advantage of that at first, on the presumption he doesn't know from squat. It will take some time for that to get sorted out.

And then there's all the charges of sexual harassment sitting out there.

If I were living in CA, I would presume things will not get better in the short term; more likely will get worse.

And, in homage to all you dichotomous thinkers, let me add, that to be critical of the future prospects of the state government does not necessarily mean I thought well of Davis. Frankly, I didn't have an opinion there.

Those shredders will be busy in Sacramento.

Too, too cynical, Bill.

Prop 54 loses. Prop 53 passes.

Nope. They both went down to strong defeat.
