John, LEXR is in trouble.

SanDisk benefits from stable flash wafer pricing. LEXR does not.

SanDisk's newer controllers are going to make some of the LEXR patents
and tricks obsolete. Write speeds approaching 10 MB/sec are coming.

John, SanDisk's big advantage is they can design controllers...

...based on the flash wafer architecture.

The write speed issues apparently are not only influenced by the controller,
but also by the design of the flash wafer and the wafer-controller interaction.

The future is not CompactFlash. It is Memory Stick, SD and mini-SD, the later
of which are proprietary formats. This is Lexar's biggest obstacle.
