the Germans could not manage that and instead imported American standards.

I have a three year old BMW 330xi and a six year year old Boxster. The Boxster has never needed anything other than an oil change. Until this year, the same goes for the beemer. this summer, a window sensor had to be replaced. the quality is more japanese than american and the engineering is better than anyone's.

mercedes is a different animal. we bought one for my wife two years ago. what a POS. there were so many problems we sold it this summer.

T, Yeah, that's one of those cause and effect deals. My own opinion is that since all Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans are very reliable, it can't all be the owners. And since every Jaguar ever made is a POS, there must have been a caring owner in there somewhere. <G>
