I agree, Topol is the all time standard to compare any actor trying to portray Tevye with. I liked West Side Story and Cabaret as well. I will never forget Lee Marvin singing that song about being born under a Wandrin' Star. Who'd a thunk Lee Marvin could move me with his singing... lol I especially liked the underlying concept of "Paint Your Wagon". Men can build the society that to them is utopia, but they can't do it without including something that will bring destruction to whatever system they invent.
