By the way, when I got exasperated about wasting my time the other day, and said that I could have been reading Le Monde, that was the literal truth. Among other things, I try to keep up my French by doing my on- line news reading on French news sites. Although I had read a couple already, when I got dragged back into the argument, I was trying to clear my plate to read Le Monde, mainly editorials and analyses. I gave up on it to focus on the argument. Then I was basically told I was a sap for taking the hypothetical seriously. Now, it is becoming chic to put down my reference to Le Monde...........
