PB, an armed society is an insane society living a life of MADness. To the extent that we use force against other people to run our lives, is the extent to which we are still animals. <Many dont know about real risks and statistics and things though > I think you are right. Those wanting guns are unbalanced nutters with no sense of statistics or risk. The greatest risk to people is the stuff they stuff in their own mouths. Most people kill themselves with their own ignorance about how to live a good life. Their dietary ideas and smoke-sucking tendencies explain nearly all deaths. Then there's sun-bathing [Auckland is the melanoma capital of the world]. Car crashing [70% of deaths involve the driver at fault]. Genetics [people need to choose better parents and do some genetic engineering]. Almost nobody is killed by violent action by others. Those who are are usually "loved" ones, relatives or "friends" in dispute, frustration and anger, many of whom will be killed with their own gun. An armed society is an insane society.
