The abuse of pain medication rests on the doctors that don't take the time to research other drugs to control the pain and the select drug companies that send out their reps to push the drug of choice regardless of whether or not it's right for the condition.

There are so many different pain medications out there right now, it's just insane that the doctors are still pushing drugs that have been around for forever. Newer and better drugs are out there, they just won't take the time, they're relying too much on the drug reps who's sole purpose is to get the docs to perscribe their drug.
