I occasionally watched O'Reilly, and I heard the Terry Gross interview. Terry Gross is a great interviewer, and she doesn't often 'lose' her interviews, but she lost that one.

As usual, Bill O'Reilly took a valid starting point, added the massive surety of his own Irish-Catholic worldview, rolled in a big chip on his shoulder, and turned it all into a club. In this case, the valid starting point was that Terry Gross had been much softer on Franken (she was, I heard that interview too) since Franken was writing satire, than she was on O'Reilly, where she spent the interview expecting O'Reilly to answer all the attacks on him. O'Reilly doesn't find Franken's books at all humorous (he calls them smear books) so he was offended by the different take, which btw Gross admitted since she is very honest.
