Yes, I appreciate what you're saying Bill. And I can understand the moderator needing to be viewed more as a centrist (boy I dislike that term but I couldn't think of another which fit). :)

I would hate to see that need cause you not post all the great articles you go through the trouble of finding though.

I agree, we need more thoughtful liberal posters like John. Unfortunately, very few on SI have enough confidence in themselves to go through the cognitive dissonance which happens in this kind of forum without getting overtly condescending or worse.

hmmm, let me see if I can think of a few you could invite.

We do need more Liberal posters. But they get attacked so fast, by numerous posters, that I think we tend to run them off. I am surprised JohnM puts up with the beating he gets. But I am grateful he does, and glad he is here.

Thanks and definitely the right point to make. As for why I stick around, I don't take the childish posts seriously and find I learn a lot crafting responses to the reasonably serious right wing posts.
