alan, thanks for telling about your experience. Yes, unused splitter outs can't help, but that's what I had [installed by an AT&T contractor who was eager to get out of here a year ago. Paid by the job, probably.] The Comcast tech yesterday installed a splitter with just two outputs, brand name 'Regal'.

If you have a splitter with an unused connection, that unused connection should have terminator to reduce the signal loss.
