I don't know the answer. There should be something in your documentation. The only time I did it, there was no problem. Make sure you touch a ground before touching the prongs and you should be ok. Other than resetting time, date, etc., I don't imagine you'll have a problem. I think newer systems you may not even have to do this as the main power system may take over.
