Sam,

Would you knowingly have sex with an HIV positive person even if a condom was involved? Thats the issue. No method of birth control is 100% effective and claiming that condoms are 100% effective in disease prevention, when they are only 97% effective as birth control is a political fantasy.

See: restech.wustl.edu for more detail and notice in that study that 97% was achieved with perfect usage - normal usage achieved only 90% effective rates.

In our feel good society, we want to have our cake and eat it as well (ie we want to keep our liberated sexual ways). No one would let a SARS (or non-medicated TB) patient walk around, even if he wore gloves and a mask that should be sufficient.
