Atlas Gold was looking to startup a cyanide gold mining operation in Eastern Oregon about ten years ago. There was a petition but not enough qualified signatures were procured in a timely fashion to put the issue to the voters. Fortunately, Atlas abandoned the idea... "I am very much against the gating of public lands that are managed by tree farm companies." I am very much against the tree farm companies managing our public lands. Tree farms are dangerous monocultures and not natural enough for my sensibilities. len
