I'll bet he still doesn't have a clue how to close the 12 billion shortfall.

As I recall, just a few short days ago you said that Davis had closed the gap to 8 billion. But what's a few billion here and there?

Maybe Arnold should hire you as the CA Comptroller. You seem to have a way with numbers, and could just explain away the deficit without cutting anything.

closing down prisons and hospitals?

Did California have no prisons and hospitals before Davis went on his hiring binge (increasing state payrolls from approximately 271,254.1 to 323,602.8 in four years)?

Here are the numbers (again)

1997-98: 271,254.1
1998-99: 282,859.7
1999-00: 296,076.1
2000-01: 311,238.9
2001-02: 323,602.8

(source: California Legislative Affairs Office, lao.ca.gov.

If putting employment back to a level 12,000 above where it was in 1998 would cause hospitals and prisons to close, then how were hospitals and prisons open in 1998? Were they unstaffed? Did the patients cure themselves? Did the prisoners remain imprisoned despite the absence of guards and wardens?

After you own up to everything OMD has thrown at you (those nasty, stubborn things called "facts"), come back and we'll talk. You have not answered even ONE of his posts with anything other than BS and evasion.

You are so full of it your eyes are brown. NO governor of this state in the 30+ years I've been here deserved recall as richly as Davis. He screwed up so badly it is mind boggling. And you are either so stupid or so partisan that you refuse to see that. Take your pick.

Fortunately, the electorate of the state did not refuse to look their duty in the eye.
