I can't find much to disagree with in that post.

Except in extreme cases it is usually best to try to find some compromise. Sometimes it will be a permanent one, that everyone can really get behind and that solves the issue completely. Of course that situation is very rare. But even if it is a temporary compromise that both sides no can change in the future (as long as it will change by a new compromise or by the democratic process), and that both sides don't see as entirely just, its still better then going to war over the issue in all but the most extreme cases.
