i used to have direcpc when the signal was downloaded satellite and uploaded via telephone line. 'bout once a year i had serious issues with their equipment/software resulting in me being down for a week or more. the downloads were very slow compared to cable standards (200-300kbps whereas cable is 1000+kbps). they didn't seem to have their act together. now it's down loaded and uploaded via satellite. i've never tried that system.
